May Mental Health Month – Suicide Prevention Trainings
Suicide ranks as the 10th leading cause of death in the US, and the 2nd leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds.
The Contra Costa Crisis Center will be offering several virtual trainings during 2021 sponsored by CalMHSA (California Mental Health Services).
Our trainings will be geared towards community members and service providers to help understand suicide facts and statistics in Contra Costa County, recognize risk factors of suicide, and how to help someone who may be at risk for suicide or self-harm.
We will host 1-hour, 4-hour, and 6-hour trainings during the year.
These trainings are free of charge, so please let others who may be interested know about this valuable resource. CEU credits will be available for a fee.
